Account deletion
You can delete your Reckonar account and personal data whether or not you have a paid subscription.
Request deletion in the app
Sign in at app.reckonar.com, open Account and choose Request account deletion. It is also linked from Saved data and exports and from the screen shown when a subscription has ended, so you can use it without an active subscription. Before you confirm, you can download an account archive with your notes, waypoints, paths and recorded tracks (also as GPX files), map areas, Hunt Area settings, and Ask conversations and feedback. You choose what happens to each Camp you own, then type your account email to confirm. The iPhone and Android apps do not offer in-app deletion yet; use the web app or email us.
Request deletion by email
Email support@reckonar.com or privacy@reckonar.com with the email address on your account and a request to delete it. Send from that address if you can. If you cannot access it, we will help verify account ownership. Do not send a password, full payment-card number, or identity document unless we specifically explain a secure verification process. After verifying ownership, we schedule the deletion, ask what should happen to any Camps you own, and confirm the date your grace period ends.
What happens and when
When your deletion is scheduled, any Reckonar subscription is canceled immediately, the remaining paid time ends without a refund, and you are signed out. Your account and associated personal data are permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period.
During the grace period you can keep your account: sign in at app.reckonar.com and choose Cancel account deletion, or contact us. Canceling the deletion does not restore the canceled subscription; you can subscribe again.
At the end of the grace period, we hard-delete your account and associated personal data, including profile information, notes, waypoints, saved locations, paths and tracks, map areas, plans, Ask conversations and feedback, push registrations, offline packs we stored for you, and account agreement records, subject to the limited retention below.
For each Camp you own, you choose to transfer it to one of its members or to delete it. A transferred Camp stays with its members, with what they added to it. A deleted Camp is deleted with its Hunt Areas and everything shared in it. The notes, waypoints, paths, tracks and map areas you added are deleted with your account, also in Camps you shared with others and in Camps you transfer. Other people may retain copies they lawfully received.
Copies already on your devices, such as downloaded Hunt Areas and work that has not synced, are not erased remotely. Deletion ends your ability to use the account, including remaining paid time, and is not a refund. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or cancel renewal. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Limited records we retain
We keep only records required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or disputes for as long as those purposes require. Subscription enrollment consent records are kept for at least three years. The billing records we keep for these purposes no longer identify your Reckonar account. Stripe processes and retains payment records under its own legal and recordkeeping obligations. Reckonar does not store full card numbers. To stop a sign-in that was already in progress from recreating the account, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your sign-in identifier; it does not contain your email or name. Restricted routine backups expire on their rotation schedule and deleted data must not be restored to active use. AI providers may retain inference data under the terms described in our Privacy Policy. Lawfully de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to you may remain.
